Loooooong Weekend

I think I over did it a little this weekend. I'm so tired today. I did 6 loads of laundry, went to a wedding in New Jersey Saturday night and went to the NY Sheep and wool festival upstate Sunday. I didn't sleep as much as I should have, but I had a lot to do. I always seem to post when I'm tired. LOL! When I'm not tired, I'm too busy doing stuff to post.

I had a fun time at the festival, it was my first time there. That's always exciting. There's so much to eat, drink, touch, see and buy. I got some nice soft woolies. So nice. I need to take pictures, but my camera is broken. I need a new one. Trying to decide which one to buy still. I've been putting that off a little. Anyways it was fun, a little cold but fun. It was sprinkling on and off, it stopped after a while, so that was good. It was a good day overall. I had some good company and some good laughs. The ride was nice, the fall foliage is beautiful this time of year. We caught a beautiful sunset on the way home, it was a great way to end the day.

Gotta Move On

I'm glad this week is over. I really need some time to recoup and take care of myself and get some rest. I really need some energy. I need to get out of this house and do stuff. Today I'm tired and hanging on the couch looking at patterns on ravelry. I have this awesome blue sky alpaca yarn that I don't know what to do with. It is so soft and nice I wanted to make gloves but I got sport weight and I really prefer fingering weight. I'd like to go back to the store and exchange it for something I can use.

Now is the time to plan out the weekend and lay the groundwork for the weekend. I spend most of the week stuck at home and not getting anything done. This weekend I'm going to make plans for myself and do stuff.

Catching up

I haven't posted in a while. Life's been wild. We've been going snowboarding. Went to Colorado on vacation. I can't believe February is almost over. I have lots of stuff to do. Let's see. I finished a baby blanket in November that needs to be blocked still. I made my friend a Golden Compass Hat. I crocheted another mushroom cap. I made a cozy for my GPS. I started this diagonal striped scarf. It seems to be taking forever.

I haven't been knitting a lot since January. I've been very busy and the enthusiasm comes and goes. I want to knit a few baby things because I have two baby showers coming up. I have to get it together so that I can get my projects done in time. I've been sticking to mindless stuff or semi-mindless stuff lately. I haven't felt like challenging myself lately because I don't have the time or the patience. If I'm going to get these baby projects done. I'm going have to find some time to sit down and concentrate on them.

oh the fatigue

So tired, too tired to knit, but I made brownies. How did that happen? I've been eating a lot of junk today. I had half a bagel with cream cheese, eggs, pizza, fun size candy (baby ruth, reeses peanut butter cup, etc) and the brownies were the icing on the cake. Ate way too much brownie. Need to stay away from the brownies and not spoil my dinner.

lelah got me on my knees

I've been trying to finish the Lelah top, but that takes a while. I don't pick it up unless I can concentrate on it, take a little bit to get into it. It's coming along slower than I would like but it's my first adult size garment. I'm still not completely confident that it's going to fit the way I want it. I have a feeling there's going to be some trial and error involved when I get to the bust line. I don't really know how to do shaping or shoulder straps. Should be a learning experience I won't soon forget.

so um yeah long time no see

I guess it's been a while since I posted. I've been in a funk lately but I'm hoping to get out of it. The change in seasons always throws me off. I finished my bag made from shopping bags. I made the handles with plastic and twine for reinforcement. Used a crochet hook and chained right into the bag and chained some more and then back in the edge of the bag and did a single crochet row back without the twine. Did that on both sides of the bag and voila all done.

What about the knittting?

Recycled Plastic Carryall

I guess this blog has also turned into a personal blog. Sometimes things take shape as time goes on. I was so busy this weekend I didn't have much time to knit. I was knitting in the car when we we're going to the city for some tapas and drinks. I'm trying to finish my
recycled plastic carryall. It really is mostly done except for the gusset and some seaming. I need to figure out what to do for handles. There are no handles in the instructions. I was thinking of crocheting some handles onto the bag when I'm done putting it together. I usually throw those things together on the fly.
